Born on February 11, 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California, Jennifer Aniston was the daughter of soap-opera actor John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow. As an adolescent she studied at the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York, before taking minor television roles in the early-1990s, such as in the short-lived series Molloy (1990) and others. In 1994 she landed what would become her signature role as Rachel Green on the hit sitcom Friends, set in New York City
