USS Texas (BB-35) is currently undergoing a major repair and restoration process after being transferred to Gulf Copper Dry Dock & Rig Repair in Galveston, Texas, in August 2022 for hull structural repairs and further restoration work. The initial phase of major repairs at the shipyard, including steel replacement and hull repairs, was completed in March 2024, when the ship returned to her floating base for additional work on the water.
