Your #LAFD this month: Firefighters faced intense flames through the roof of a vacant industrial building in downtown LA. Despite the intense fire, our well-coordinated team of 110 LAFD personnel contained the blaze in just 61 minutes. LAFD’s heavy equipment, including the RS3 Robotic Firefighting Vehicle, played a crucial role in the final extinguishment and hazard reduction. LAFD Firefighters ascended their 94-foot aerial ladder in high wind conditions to meet a civilian clinging to the side of the Barrington Plaza high rise. The man was forced out of the building and onto a very narrow ledge due to deteriorating conditions inside, where fire was ripping through the 7th floor. In addition to the aerial ladder rescue, many other citizens were evacuated by air from floors above the fire. | Los Angeles Fire Department
