My anxiety has always been worse at night. Panic attacks would ramp up, and one of the ways I found to cope was by singing to myself. I started writing songs as a form of medicine—something I deeply needed. I wrote this song when I was 16, as a lullaby for myself, and I would rock back and forth as I played it over and over, until my nervous system calmed and I could finally sleep.
