After Warhol’s death The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. was founded to promote the “advancement of visual arts.” The Andy Warhol Museum was announced in 1989 and opened in Pittsburgh in 1994.

The museum also houses the entire Andy Warhol Video Collection – over 2500 videotapes which include all episodes and outtakes of his television series Fashion, Andy Warhol’s T.V., and Andy Warhol’s Fifteen Minutes, the soap operas Vivian’s Girls, Phoney, and Fight, and the large body of work known as Factory Diaries.

The Andy Warhol Museum tells Andy Warhol’s story and explores his legacy through the largest collection of Warhol art and archives in the world.

Located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the place of Andy Warhol’s birth, The Andy Warhol Museum holds the largest collection of Warhol’s artworks and archival materials. We are one of the most comprehensive single-artist museums in the world and the largest in North America.

The Warhol mourns the passing of Andy Warhol’s last surviving brother, Paul Warhola. By birth, he was the first of the three Warhola brothers, each birth separated by three years: John born in 1925, Andy in 1928.

Museum admission to The Warhol includes all permanent and special exhibitions, daily film screenings, and daily gallery talks. Visitors are welcome to visit our entrance space, café, and store during museum hours without museum admission.
