The Toronto Blue Jays are projected to part ways with their franchise shortstop after a sudden decline in his on-field play.

Toronto’s offense has been a force this year averaging 4.9 runs per game, largely due to shortstop Bo Bichette, who’s having a resurgent season after a down year in 2024. The 27-year-old shortstop has spent his entire seven-year career with the Blue Jays and has been consistently excellent at the top of the order.

Bo Bichette has been one of the protagonists for the Toronto Blue Jays as the shortstop is batting .297 with 16 home runs and 81 RBIs.

With superstar first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. already locked up on a 14-year, $500 million extension signed in April, general manager Ross Atkins will soon be tasked with another negotiation against a cornerstone piece as Bo Bichette gets set for free agency ahead of the upcoming offseason.
