Sean McVay says it’s ‘a step in the right direction’ for the veteran quarterback who missed the first four weeks of camp with an aggravated disc in his back.

Stafford has reportedly been dealing with an aggravated disc in his back, and while he previously completed some private individual work where he threw behind the scenes, he had been sitting out of team drills. This is a step in the right direction with the Rams' season opener vs. the Houston Texans now less than three weeks away.

After going three-plus weeks without practicing, Matthew Stafford has now been in pads and participating in practice for two consecutive days. Following his long-awaited return on Monday, Stafford is once again on the field Tuesday.
