Heatwave should be a decent show with the card WWE has put in place, but NXT’s weekly shows have been lacking some of the excitement that once made the brand must-see TV every week. If it can find a way to regain that, NXT could become the best brand in WWE again.

NXT began this week's show with the showdown between Jax and Legend. Both women are among the most powerful in WWE, so this was the 2025 version of The Unstoppable Force vs. The Immovable Object. They locked up and fought for control. It seemed like a stalemate until Jax put Legend in the corner for some shoulder thrusts.

Je'Von Evans will challenge NXT Champion Oba Femi at Heatwave after a victory over TNA Champion Trick Williams on "WWE NXT."

WWE NXT is in Philadelphia tonight for the final stop before Heatwave. Oba Femi will defend his NXT Championship against either Je’Von Evans or Trick Williams at Sunday’s PLE in Lowell, Massachusetts. Tonight, Evans battles Williams in a number one contender’s match to determine who gets the title shot.

Chelsea Green and Ethan Page will team up to face Tyra Mae Steele and Tavion Heights at NXT Heatweave. The match was made official on Tuesday’s WWE NXT. The four participants sat down for a peace treaty on NXT, but nothing was settled.

It's looking increasingly likely that Ethan Page and Ricky Saints are the next two NXT stars to arrive on WWE's main roster shortly. They have been embroiled in a heated rivalry on Tuesday nights and most recently fought at The Great American Bash for the NXT North American Championship.

NXT Heatwave 2025 in Lowell, Massachusetts, promises a night of intense action. Oba Femi defends his NXT Championship against Je'Von Evans, while Jacy Jayne faces Masha Slamovich and Ash by Elegance for the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
