Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott's office responded Thursday to news that his state's second-largest police department was not working with federal immigration enforcement agents, saying local officials should be complying.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) has begun hosting a series of outreach meetings to inform immigrant communities that the agency will not take part in any deportation raids or arrests currently being carried out by the Trump administration.

Two workers at a Rochester restaurant were apprehended Wednesday as part of an operation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Nupa restaurant said on social media that ICE agents arrested the two workers in the parking lot outside one of the business’ two locations.

Nupá says two of its staff members were detained by ICE, forcing it to close one of its Rochester restaurants.

At Thursday's rally in support of immigrant rights, leaders of Communities Organizing Latine Power and Action (COPAL) said at least two other ICE raids occurred.
