Rory McIlroy discusses new PGA Tour schedule for 2026 along with his recent absences from big events
The 2025 PGA Tour season has yet to conclude, but that has not stopped some from looking to next year's schedule. After the PGA Tour released the playing calendar for the 2026 season on Tuesday, Rory McIlroy was asked about the cadence of the tournaments and the addition of another signature event to the campaign.
Rory on Masters flags: "They had 1,100 extra left in the merchandise facility at the end of the week, and we took all 1,100."
Rory McIlroy never gets tired of signing a Masters pin flag as the champion, and there's been a lot of that to do.
At least for this year, the 30 players who advanced to the Tour Championship this week in Atlanta are starting from scratch. No FedEx Cup points were carried over, and no player will get a head start over any other.
