The billionaire head of the U.S. DOGE Service clashed with Trump Cabinet officials well before he announced he would soon head back to Tesla.

Elon Musk said he would keep doing part-time work for the Trump administration beyond next month, raising more questions about his role and whether the White House is following the rules.

Jimmy Kimmel came up with only one conclusion for Elon Musk to save Tesla after the billionaire CEO announced he is stepping away from his role in Trump’s cabinet to focus on his declining business ventures. Musk told investors on Tuesday, “Starting next month, May, my time allocation to DOGE will drop significantly.”
