North Texas will dry out heading into the weekend with sunny skies and seasonal temperatures. For the second-straight day, a heat advisory is in effect for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to the east, until 7 p.m. Once again, feels like temperatures will reach as high as 108 on Tuesday afternoon.

Monday marks the fourth day in a row that parts of North Texas, including the metro area, have been under a heat advisory. The alert, which warns of an increased risk of heat-related illnesses developing, has been in place because of dangerous heat indices in the forecast.

We’ll be flirting with the century mark the next couple of days, but I think we will underachieve by a couple of degrees. However, there’s more to consider, as shower and thunderstorm activity will be increasing by the middle of the week.
