USA TODAY Sports released its preseason college football re-rankings of all 136 FBS schools, with the Florida Gators landing here.

Texas will begin the season ranked No. 1 in the Coaches Poll and AP Poll for the first time in school history. Fortunately for the Longhorns, head coach Steve Sarkisian doesn't pay much attention to the rankings and understands how important it is for his team to go out and prove it each and every week.

Five Big 12 teams landed in the top 25, led by defending champion Arizona State (No. 11). Kansas State (No. 20), Iowa State (tied for 21st), BYU (No. 23) and Texas Tech (No. 24) joined the Sun Devils. The Wildcats and Cyclones open the season on Aug. 23 in Dublin, Ireland.

The Auburn Tigers will begin the 2025 season in the "receiving votes" category of the US LBM Coaches Poll by earning 50 votes. This season, the Tigers will face three teams ranked in the top-25: Alabama, Georgia, and Texas A&M, and will face eight teams that are receiving recognition from the preseason poll.

OU was ranked in the coaches poll for 25 consecutive years. The Sooners were the first team out of the poll, while eight SEC teams were included in the poll.

It's not that he doesn't see the value in the coaches poll, and for that matter, the Associated Press Top 25, but since neither are used to help determine the national champion anymore, they've lost their luster in his eyes.
