Brian Schottenheimer has added another new name to his Dallas Cowboys coaching staff. And this time it is another familiar face. According to reports from ESPN Cowboys insider Todd Archer, Schottenheimer has tabbed Carlos Polk as the assistant special teams coordinator under the recently hired Nick Sorensen.

Schottenheimer's skill set, energy and understanding of the Cowboys' current situation helped Jerry Jones make his decision.

Today, the Dallas Cowboys reached an agreement to extend Lunda Wells' contract, ensuring that he will continue as the team’s tight ends coach. Additionally, the Cowboys conducted an interview with Klayton Adams for the offensive coordinator position.

Schottenheimer and the Cowboys have named Dave Borgonzi, Aaron Whitecotton and Andre Curtis to the staff, the team announced Wednesday. All three are defensive hires. And all three new additions were greatly influenced by new Cowboys defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus . Schottenheimer, though, had final say on the hires as head coach.
