They were down 27-0 at one point in the game, and that prompted Chiefs safety Justin Reid to mention the Patriots’ historic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons at Super Bowl LI. The Patriots trailed by 25 points in a 28-3 deficit before coming from behind and winning in overtime, 34-28.

The biggest comeback in Super Bowl history was when the New England Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime in Super Bowl 51 on Feb. 5, 2017. Atlanta led 21-3 at halftime and 28-3 late in the third quarter. Tom Brady threw for 466 yards and led New England to 31 unanswered points and a 34-28 victory.

The Super Bowl is over. I still can’t get over it. I remain stunned but satisfied, my belt unbuckled as though I’ve put down two Thanksgiving dinners. But I didn’t just watch Eagles-Chiefs as much as I felt it.
