South Korea’s Defense Ministry warned Tuesday that any provocation by North Korea would be met with "overwhelming" retaliation in response to the North's threats regarding the arrival of a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in Busan.

USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) pulled in to Busan Naval Base, South Korea on Sunday for a scheduled port visit, marking the first visit of a U.S. carrier to a foreign port during the second Trump administration.

Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of leader Kim Jong Un, slammed the deployment of USS Carl Vinson as "confrontation hysteria of the US and its stooges." The carrier arrived in Busan for a scheduled visit on Sunday.
