Diamondbacks win two of three vs. Rangers behind Ketel Marte’s late heroics, staying within reach of the playoff hunt.

The Texas Rangers finished a six-game week against the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Toronto Blue Jays with a 2-4 record, three late-game meltdowns, two position players injured and one big bad blowout loss.

James McCann and Ketel Marte both homered with two outs in a four-run ninth inning for Arizona to beat the Texas Rangers 6-4.

The Rangers, held to four hits, led 2-1 after three innings on sacrifice flies by Adolis García and Marcus Semien.

First baseman Jake Burger, who had a 1.097 OPS in August, was placed on the IL on Monday with a sprained left wrist. It is Burger’s third trip to the IL this season. The Rangers recalled outfielder Alejandro Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock to replace Burger.

The Rangers successfully pulled off their biggest comeback of the season to beat the Diamondbacks 7-6 in the series opener on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks crushed the previously impenetrable Nathan Eovaldi at the Rangers and took a 5-0 lead, but Texas came back.
