Philadelphia Eagles low-key August trade for cornerback Jakorian Bennett may prove more impactful than it first appeared, as the young defender has quickly emerged as a factor in the competition opposite Quinyon Mitchell.
Right tackle Jackson Barton and center Luke Wypler also impressed. Among 78 centers, Wypler currently holds the NFL’s best preseason pass-blocking grade at 86.7. Barton posted a 75.6 pass-blocking grade against the Eagles’ rush. Both played a respectable 39 snaps in the win.
After the Aggies season wrapped up in 2023 with a loss to Oklahoma State in the TaxAct Texas Bowl, Smith had already declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. He was picked up in the fifth round as the overall 152nd pick to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent his rookie season.
