Paradise ‘s penultimate episode delivered levels of stress not often experienced from tuning into an hourlong drama, but despite the fast-paced nature of the pivotal flashback installment, viewers get to spend an extended amount of time with Cal Bradford ( James Marsden ), the president who kicks off the show’s murder mystery.

The Paradise premiere started with the president (Marsden) being found dead in his home by Secret Service Agent Xavier Collins ( Sterling K. Brown ). An investigation quickly began as Xavier searched for answers and thought back on his relationship with Cal courtesy of flashbacks.

The actors star in Hulu's "Paradise," which reunites Brown with "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman and meditates on climate change and technology.
