The new Mixed Doubles format for the 2025 US Open has allowed more of the top singles players to participate in the event, and on Tuesday, Aug. 19 in New York, the Mixed Doubles tournament begins.

The Italians were given one of them and they showed off their skills in a victory that took just 42 minutes. The shortened format allows the matches to speed by, knowing winning teams would have to play twice on the first day to reach the semifinals and finals on Wednesday night.

Veteran doubles experience overcame singles stardom as defending champions Andrea Vavassori and Sara Errani reached the semi-finals at the U.S. Open's reimagined mixed doubles on Tuesday, as the event kicked off with a new format and new fans.
