The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly made their decision about who the starting quarterback will be for Week 1.
Daniel Jones was named QB1 on Tuesday. Jones won the top spot over Anthony Richardson, who the Colts selected with the fourth-overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Indianapolis Colts will have a new Week 1 starting quarterback in 2025. After two years of trying to make things work with Anthony Richardson, the Colts have decided to make former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones their starter instead.

When it came to putting references down, three people came to mind. One of them was his close personal friend and former New England Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The other two references were Frank Reich — the last coach Luck played for in the NFL — and Colts general manager Chris Ballard.
The quarterback competition for the Indianapolis Colts is settled. Head coach Shane Steichen has chosen Daniel Jones as the starting quarterback for the Colts, pushing aside 2023 first-round pick Anthony Richardson.
Luck told Zak Keefer from The Athletic that he originally thought he'd play in the NFL until he was 40 or 45. A generational talent from Stanford, Luck was seen as the future of the Colts after they parted ways with Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.
