The much-talked-about pairing of Emma Raducanu and Carlos Alcaraz fell to an early exit in the US Open’s mixed doubles competition on Tuesday, losing their first-round match and failing to win a set.

Carlos Alcaraz produced a moment of sheer brilliance during his first-round mixed doubles match partnering with Emma Raducanu at the 2025 US Open.

The duo came up against British star Jack Draper and his partner Jessica Pegula in the first round of the revamped competition, with Alcaraz facing a rapid turnaround to be in New York to take part, having won the Cincinatti Open less than 24 hours earlier. However, he and Raducanu were ultimately beaten 4-2, 4-2 by Draper and Pegula.
