A college basketball player has died in a tragic drowning at 22 years old. Deng Mayar, a college basketball player at the University of Nebraska Omaha, was swimming with a friend in Salt Lake City, Utah over the weekend.

University of Nebraska-Omaha men's basketball forward Deng Mayar, also known as Deng Ador, has died after drowning in a Utah reservoir. He was 22.

Officials at the University of Nebraska at Omaha said Sunday that the 22-year-old who died was a men’s basketball player. The university identified him as Deng Mayar, although Herriman police previously said his name was Deng Ador. Police said he drowned Saturday at the reservoir.
