The Toronto Raptors reportedly discussed trading RJ Barrett to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the deal for Brandon Ingram

In February, the Toronto Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans ahead of the trade deadline. Though he has yet to make his debut with the team, many have high hopes for Ingram in Toronto.

The Toronto Raptors swung for a big fish at the trade deadline and acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans. The Raptors traded away Kelly Olynyk and Bruce Brown, but there were talks that RJ Barrett could have been part of the deal.

RJ Barrett was discussed in trade talks for Brandon Ingram with New Orleans, but the Pelicans preferred the expiring contract of Bruce Brown and stretch-five center Kelly Olynyk, who’s owed $13.45

The question on everyone's mind now is when the one-time All-Star will don a Raptors jersey on the court for the first time. Ingram's debut is certainly a highly-anticipated one for Raptors fans everywhere.

Did the Raptors make a mistake on the Brandon Ingram front, especially after signing him to a huge extension following the trade?

According to NBA insider Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Toronto Raptors could look to trade RJ Barrett this offseason.  The Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans at this year’s trade deadline.

Sources told HoopsHype that the Hawks and Pelicans had several three-team trade conversations, which included two of the following four players leaving Atlanta in different trade scenarios for Ingram that ultimately fell through: Clint Capela,

But rumors suggest the front office attempted and failed to acquire star forward Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype. The Pelicans ended up trading Ingram to the Toronto Raptors.
