Former GM Jim Bowden believes the 2025 season is effectively over for the Orioles despite the recent uptick in performance, but he says making the right deals at the trade deadline could help set Baltimore up for 2026 and beyond.

Baltimore Orioles veteran pitcher Charlie Morton looked like he had finally run out of gas at the start of the 2025 MLB regular season. Signed this past winter to a one-year, $15 million deal, he was expected to provide the team with a reliable innings-eater at the back end of the starting rotation.
