Eaton is one of four wildfires for which evacuations were ordered in the Los Angeles area. Palisades is burning in the Pacific Palisades area; Hurst in Sylmar, at the north end of the San Fernando Valley; and Sunset in the Hollywood Hills.

A second major fire erupted in the Los Angeles area as firefighters struggled to contain the Pacific Palisades blaze.

Authorities on Wednesday said 70,000 people are under evacuation orders in the Los Angeles area as wildfires burn through the region. At least 28,000 structures are threatened by the fires, according to the authorities.
