According to multiple reports, the 45-year-old Jeff Hafley will interview with the New York Jets for head coach after spending the 2024 season with the Packers.

The New York Jets interviewed Green Bay Packers assistant general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and Miami Dolphins executive Brian Gaine for their general manager vacancy.

Hafley isn’t the first Packers coordinator to receive interest from other teams, as ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier this week that offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich interviewed to be the next head coach of the Chicago Bears, though it’s believed Chicago will go with a more experienced head coach when they make their final decision.

The New York Jets interviewed Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores and quarterbacks coach Josh McCown and Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley on Friday for their head coach vacancy.

The Jets formally interviewed Ulbrich for their opening. Ulbrich was thrown into the role of interim head coach on Oct. 8 after Robert Saleh was fired. The Jets went 3-9 under Ulbrich and finished 5-12 overall. Ulbrich is very popular among the players and in the Jets’ building, but he is considered a long shot to keep the job.

The Atlanta Falcons have now interviewed four coaches for their defensive coordinator vacancy. The team met with Green Bay Packers pass-game coordinator Derrick Ansley in the second of two interviews on Thursday afternoon.

The trio increased the list to 15 coaching candidates to meet with the Jets, who have also conducted 15 interviews for their general manager job.

Jeff Halfley is being considered for a head coaching role, but one of his defensive units is going to undergo a leadership change too.
