Leon Draisaitl became the first German-born player in NHL history to get 1,000 points on Tuesday. The 30-year-old forward reached the milestone by getting the secondary assist on Zach Hyman 's power-play goal for the Edmonton Oilers at 11:38 of the first period against the Pittsburgh Penguins at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.

Goaltender Tristan Jarry and forward Samuel Poulin were acquired by Edmonton, while Pittsburgh received goaltender Stuart Skinner, defenseman Brett Kulak and a 2029 second-round pick. Jarry arrives after appearing in 14 games for Pittsburgh this season, producing a 9-3-1 record with a 2.66 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
