JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Heavy downpours and gusty winds are blowing through this afternoon as the heat continues to increase and rise. Localized flooding is possible in urban and low-lying areas. These storms will likely linger throughout the evening.
Residents in Gorham and Falmouth are cleaning up the debris after the outflow of a severe thunderstorm caused major damage on Sunday. Jeremy Lott says he was working in his garage in Gorham when the storm came through.
The warning was active for Norfolk and Plymouth counties. "The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. for eastern and southeastern Massachusetts," according to the National Weather Service.
Local heavy rainfall may reach 2 inches, with possible thunderstorms reaching Boston in the late afternoon, forecasters said.
Rain will continue steadily across northwest Montana throughout the day. Meanwhile, scattered showers and storms will develop further east across the plains. A few of the storms could turn severe.
