Game Rant on MSNNintendo Switch Online Is Adding Another GameCube Title
Nintendo Switch Online subscribers with the Expansion Pack upgrade will soon have another GameCube title to add to their growing collections.
But as much as I want the obvious GameCube classics on my Switch 2, it’s the more underrated gems I’ve heard so much about from hardcore Nintendo fans over the years that really pique my interest. Games like Chibi-Robo!
Nintendo has today announced it will be bringing Chibi-Robo to the Switch 2's GameCube library next week on 21st August, 2025. This title was one of the many games confirmed alongside the reveal of the GameCube library for the Switch Online service. It originally made its debut on the GameCube in 2005/06 and was developed by the team at Skip.
Nintendo has announced that Chibi-Robo will be the latest GameCube game to come to the Nintendo Switch 2's classic library as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription. The rare and expensive title will be added to Switch Online's GameCube library on Thursday, August 21, 2025, bringing the collection to five games.
With a balance between modernizations and authenticity, the GameCube controller for the Switch 2 should be your go-to for any Switch Online games that drop moving forward.
The nature of the Switch 2 GameCube controller and its versatility make me hope we could eventually see more NSO peripherals.
Switch 2 gamers who come home bone tired after a long day of drudgery will collapse on the couch and want to take their mind off life’s worst entanglements with a few hours of gaming. These working stiffs necessarily have to reach for the now more expensive first-party controller first if they don’t want to get up and hit the Switch 2 power button.
These days, Chibi-Robo is one of the most expensive retail GameCube games on the secondhand market, with complete copies regularly going for more than $200, as shown on market-tracking site PriceCharting. That's not quite retirement money today, but who knows how the collector's scene is going to evolve in the decades to come.
