Israel and Iran kept up their attacks, killing and wounding civilians and raising concern among world leaders meeting in Canada this week that the biggest battle between the two old enemies could lead to a broader regional conflict.
Israel has launched hundreds of air strikes since the early hours of June 13th. Iran has responded with salvoes of ballistic missiles and drones, although only a handful have penetrated Israel’s defence systems.
Many of those confirmed dead were women and children, according to the authorities, although they have yet to publicly name all of the victims.
