The Colts are bringing back Alie-Cox on a one-year deal, they announced on social media. The veteran will suit up for his eighth season, all with Indianapolis. He joins Drew Ogletree, Jelani Woods and Will Mallory as the team's tight ends, all returning from 2024.

Tight end Mo Alie-Cox re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts on Friday. Terms of the contract were not disclosed, however multiple media outlets reported it was a one-year deal. Alie-Cox, 31, had 12 catches for 147 yards and one touchdown in 17 games (13 starts) last season while serving primarily in a blocking role.

In a surprise move, the Indianapolis Colts announced that they have released kicker Matt Gay. Gay still had two years remaining on his original four-year deal that he signed with the team. The move does save the Colts $2.75 million in cap space for the 2025 season, according to Over the Cap.

He had two years remaining on his $22.5 million contract and while the move will save the Colts $2.75 million on this year's salary cap, Indy already was below the cap figure. The bigger problem was Gay not meeting the lofty expectations after making more than 98% of his field goals in 2021-22 when he played for Los Angeles Rams.
