The amount the 14 schools in the SEC last year only inched up, from $51.3 million to $52.5 million because Oklahoma and Texas received a cut

The Southeastern Conference reported a financial deficit for the 2024 fiscal year after league made expansion-related payments to Oklahoma, Texas.

The SEC announced $808.4 million in revenue distribution to its 16 member universities for the 2023-24 fiscal year, which ended Aug. 31, 2024. Included in that figure are Oklahoma and Texas, which officially joined the conference in July 2024.

Heading for financial windfall, the SEC actually saw a dip in revenue after payments to Texas and Oklahoma worth $27.5 million.

The SEC's 14 pre-expansion members saw their league revenue share increase to $52.5 million for fiscal 2023-24. Texas and Oklahoma each received $27.5 million.
