Heavy lake-effect snow and plummeting temperatures are expected Sunday as the Arctic blast settles into West Michigan.

While we aren’t expected to shatter any records with regard to cold temperatures in the coming few days, the coldest arctic airmass to impact the Buffalo-Niagara region in years is here and will tighten its grip through midweek.

A blast of arctic air is moving into Michiana as we close out the weekend and start the workweek, and with it comes chances for lake effect snow.A WINTER WEATHE

Colder air is already arriving and will continue to funnel in through the day. This will provide frigid temperatures for our mornings to start the week and also help to keep temperatures below freezing through the afternoons.

An Arctic blast paired with heavy lake-effect snow targets West Michigan beginning early next week. Cold temperatures will begin to slide into West Michigan on Saturday with the passage of an Arctic cold front.
