The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released the name of the woman killed in an alligator attack in Seminole County over the weekend as the investigation into the incident continues.

A woman died after being bitten by an alligator while swimming in the Econlockhatchee River near Orlando.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the woman was swimming with friends in the river around 1:30 p.m. when she was bitten and sustained serious injuries.
