That would be a promotion for Leonhard, and Denver granted the Dallas request. Leonhard is scheduled for a Zoom interview for the Cowboys' DC opening on Saturday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Cowboys are once again looking for a new defensive coordinator and comments made by Brian Schottenheimer point toward a Broncos coach.

JK Dobbins, whom the Denver Broncos signed this past offseason, looked like he was well on his way to a 1,000-yard campaign. However, a foot injury cut his season short yet again, marking the sixth straight year that he was not able to play a full season.

Dobbins will be well worth rolling the dice on for a cash-strapped club like the Dallas Cowboys. The team could be priced out of retaining Javonte Williams and will want to make up that lost production by coming to terms on a cheap, incentive-laden deal with Dobbins.
