COLUMBUS, Ohio — Anti-ICE protests continued Thursday across central Ohio following the fatal shooting of a woman by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in Minneapolis, prompting demonstrations from suburban Westerville to the Ohio Statehouse.
ICE has turned much of its enforcement efforts to Minneapolis, where agents shot and killed a woman Jan. 7. Columbus immigrants remain scared.
Columbus police were called to a local hotel on reports of a noise complaint. Social media videos, a hotel employee confirmed protesters were outside.
The protest was also in memory of Renee Nicole Good, the Minneapolis woman who lost her life in Minneapolis after being shot in her vehicle by an ICE enforcement officer. Protesters heard several speakers on the city hall steps and than a march was conducted around the Bartholomew Courthouse.
