A movement to protest the early actions of President Donald Trump’s administration took off Wednesday, as thousands of demonstrators gathered outside a federal courthouse in Philadelphia and at state capitols in Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin and Indiana.

Protests erupted across the city as people stood up against President Trump’s immigration policies. From the #ADayWithoutImmigrants movement to student walkouts and nationwide rallies, thousands of voices have spoken out.

The grassroots effort has been organized across social media sites using hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, calling on Americans to "fight fascism."
