Xabi Alonso reportedly broke a Carlo Ancelotti tradition before taking charge of his first Real Madrid match. On Wednesday, all eyes were on the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami as Madrid came to town to kick off their FIFA Club World Cup campaign against Al Hilal.

Summer signings Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold both made their club debuts as Alonso's side were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Hilal in their FIFA Club World Cup opener. Gonzalo Garcia superbly fired Real Madrid into a first-half lead before Ruben Neves equalised from the penalty spot.
