Dishman rushed outside to find a tree had fallen on his house during strong winds from Saturday night's severe thunderstorms that hit northern Indianapolis and Hamilton County. The tree caused significant damage to the roof and punctured the ceiling of the front room, but luckily, no one in his family was injured, he said.

Another hot and steamy day across the Chicago area triggering some waves of heavy thunderstorms in parts of the area this afternoon and evening.

Strong storms swept through the Chicago area Saturday evening, bringing torrential rain, hail, and damaging winds, causing significant damage in several suburbs. In one suburb, the storms tore the roof off of an apartment building.
