Barcelona says it will be able to register newly signed goalkeeper Joan García for the new season after the Spanish league confirmed a long-term injury to Marc-André ter Stegen.

Barcelona announced Wednesday the long-term injury validation of goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen by the Spanish league, meaning the club can register new signing Joan Garcia without breaking financial fair play rules.

Here’s Barcelona’s official statement: “FC Barcelona hereby announces that LaLiga’s Medical Committee has ruled that goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury meets the long-term injury criteria established by current regulations. “The club will proceed tomorrow to immediately formalise the registration of player Joan García.”
