While the Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) still have control of the NFC East, things have tightened up a bit with the Dallas Cowboys (5-5-1) beating them last week. The Washington Commanders (3-8) and New York Giants (2-10) are still bringing up the rear and are more focused on their 2026 draft position at this point.

Again, according to NFL.com, the Eagles currently have a 41% chance of getting the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Only the Rams (8-2) have a better chance, at 42%. It should be noted that the Eagles beat the Rams 33-26 on Sept. 21, so the Eagles would have the first tiebreaker should both teams finish with the best record in the NFC.
When Green Bay and Detroit meet to start the day, rooting for the Packers is simply about ensuring the Eagles a better chance at the NFC's No. 1 seed. The Lions have a better record than Green Bay, so it helps Philly more if the Lions lose.
