A kayaker was airlifted to the hospital following an alligator attack on Monday afternoon at Lake Kissimmee State Park.

An alligator attacked a woman kayaking at a central Florida nature preserve, sending her to a hospital, authorities said. The attack happened when the woman was paddling at Tiger Creek Preserve in Polk County on March 3, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

Calls were made for an apparent alligator-biting incident out of Osceola County. Officials could confirm that FWC got to the scene before any other crews. They also confirmed that one person was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center. FWC officials are still on the scene with the other kayakers and are still investigating.

A woman was bitten on the elbow by an alligator while she was boating in Florida, officials said. The woman was paddling at Tiger Creek Preserve in Polk County at the time of the incident on Monday, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.
