Greeted by heckles and boos at his former stadium, midfielder Evander basked in the hostile environment. In his return to Providence Park on Aug. 16, the Brazilian became the villain as he led FC Cincinnati to a 3-2 victory over his former club, the Portland Timbers.

Kelsy pulled Portland within a goal on a penalty kick — his first of the season — in the 68th minute. It was Kelsy’s seventh goal — one more than he had for Cincinnati last season as a rookie. The PK was awarded after Juan Mosquera drew a foul on Stiven Jimenez.

Evander made his long-awaited return to Portland, where he embraced a new role previously unfamiliar to him in the city: the villain.
