After torrential downpours across southeast Wisconsin and severe storms wreaked havoc around the state, Governor Tony Evers announced that he’s requesting assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
While visiting flooded homes in, Evers said he hasn't heard from FEMA since his call for aid Aug. 13, but hopes for a timely decision.
Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI) on Wednesday requested funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for widespread flooding in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. Wisconsin Emergency Management said that damage in southeastern Wisconsin met the federal threshold to receive disaster relief.
Evers submitted the request to FEMA Aug. 13. A presidential declaration is required to allow FEMA support to states that request it.
