Residents awoke to mostly quiet streets in Tel Aviv after spending the night running back and forth to bomb shelters after Iran’s attacks on the coastal city. Some restaurants and cafes were closed, although those that remained open were full of people drinking coffee and eating pastries as normal.

Hundreds of missiles were sent toward Israel, officials said, and several appeared to strike despite the country’s air defense systems. Interceptors also generated explosions near the ground as they fired to shoot missiles out of the sky. Sirens sounded across the entire country.

Israel stated that residential buildings had been hit during the Iranian strikes, with rescue and fire services stating that 14 people had been injured.
