Iran condemns Israel's overnight strikes on military and nuclear facilities while threatening US bases in the Middle East as the Trump administration orders partial evacuations.

Key right-wing figures, including some Trump allies, question the Israeli strikes and warn against a US war with Iran.

Israel’s strikes on Iranian nuclear and military facilities constitute a “grave danger and a serious threat” to the peace, security, and stability of the entire region and beyond, Pakistan told the United Nations Security Council during an emergency session convened on Friday, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

Iran remains in economic crisis due to international sanctions over its nuclear program, which have limited its oil exports. The Iranian rial remains weak and inflation is stubbornly high at around 40%. Any further disruption to oil exports would ripple globally.

The attacks, which Israel said targeted Iran’s nuclear program and military targets, killed Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami, head of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Johnson affirmed the U.S. and Israel's shared goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the operation aims to counter Iran's threat to Israel's existence.
